Commercial Electricians in Lewiston, ID & Clarkston, WA
Tenant improvements, service upgrades, lighting retrofits, equipment hookups, and the 2 a.m. call when half the building goes dark. RD Electric is a licensed commercial electrical contractor in both Idaho and Washington, based on Main Street in Lewiston, with a bucket truck and a crew that shows up when it says it will.
Commercial work we do in the valley
Most of our commercial customers are the businesses you'd expect in a river town of 60,000 people: retail on 21st Street and in the Orchards, restaurants and bars downtown, medical and dental offices, churches, shops and warehouses along the Snake River corridor, and the ag and grain operations that surround all of it. We do the same kind of work for property managers with multiple buildings and for general contractors who need a reliable electrical sub on a build-out.
The jobs range from a single dedicated circuit for a new piece of equipment to a full tenant improvement with new service, lighting, and rough-in. What doesn't change is the crew. RD Electric journeymen do the work, not a rotating cast of subs, and Rob is the one who quotes it.
Commercial electrical services
Installation, repair, and upgrades for businesses across the LC Valley.
Tenant improvements & build-outs
New rough-in, panels, lighting, and finish work for a new tenant or a remodel. We bid from plans or walk the space with you.
Service & panel upgrades
Older buildings downtown were built for 60 to 120 amps. Most small shops now need 200 or more. We upgrade the service, the panel, and the feeders.
LED lighting retrofits
Replace fluorescent and HID fixtures with LED, inside and in the parking lot. Lower power bills, better light, and utility rebates where available.
Equipment & machinery hookups
Dedicated circuits, disconnects, and 3-phase connections for kitchen equipment, compressors, HVAC, shop tools, and ag equipment.
Exterior, signage & parking lot lighting
Pole lights, building-mounted fixtures, sign circuits, and anything else that needs the bucket truck.
Emergency & exit lighting
Install, test, and repair the life-safety lighting the fire marshal checks.
Troubleshooting & repair
Tripping breakers, dead circuits, flickering fixtures, or a panel that's running hot. We find the cause, not just the symptom.
Standby generators & EV charging
Generac standby power for businesses that can't afford downtime, and Level 2 chargers for fleets, employees, or customers. See generators and EV charging.
When the building goes dark, it's a business problem first
A walk-in cooler without power, a restaurant on a Friday night, a clinic with patients scheduled. RD Electric answers commercial emergency calls around the clock across the valley. Call 208-413-2413 and you get a person, not a voicemail.
How commercial jobs work with us
Walk-through or plan review
For service work, Rob or a journeyman looks at the site. For build-outs and TI work, send the plans and we'll bid from them.
Written proposal
Scope, materials, labor, permit, and schedule in one document. If the plans change, the change order is in writing too.
Permits & inspections
We pull commercial electrical permits on both sides of the river and coordinate the inspections around your other trades.
Scheduled around your business
Nights, early mornings, or a shutdown window if that's what it takes to keep you open.
The same electricians, job after job.
Property managers and GCs work with us because the crew that wired the last space is the crew that shows up for the next one. No national dispatch, no subs you've never met. If something needs attention after the fact, you call the shop on Main Street and talk to someone who was there.
Questions business owners and GCs ask us
Are you licensed for commercial work in both Idaho and Washington?
Yes. RD Electric holds electrical contractor licenses in both states and is bonded and insured for commercial work on either side of the river.
Will you bid from plans?
Yes. Send drawings and specs and we'll return a written proposal. For smaller service jobs a site walk is usually faster than plans.
Do you do 3-phase?
Yes. Shops, restaurants, ag facilities, and most equipment hookups in the valley are 3-phase work, and it's routine for our crew.
Can you work after hours so we don't close?
Yes. We schedule commercial work around your business, including nights and weekends when a shutdown during the day isn't an option.
Do you handle commercial permits and inspections?
Yes. We pull the electrical permit, coordinate with the building department and your other trades, and meet the inspector.
Do you do maintenance contracts?
We do recurring maintenance for property managers and businesses with multiple locations: lighting, panels, emergency lighting tests, and generator service. Ask about a schedule that fits your buildings.
